In an era where genuine spiritual leadership is often overshadowed by false prophets and preachers, it is refreshing to witness the unwavering dedication of a few Bible-preaching churches. One such beacon of faith is Ulubuto Baptist Mission, a church that stands firm in its core mission: to preach salvation, spread the message of Christ, and guide lost souls to the saving knowledge of God.
Ulubuto Baptist Mission has been making significant strides, particularly in the Northern and Copperbelt provinces of Zambia. On the Copperbelt, the mission has successfully planted three churches in Ndola. One of its most recent and remarkable achievements is the commissioning of a new church hall in George Township.
In July, the long-awaited church hall, named Moeckel, was officially handed over to the community of George Township built at Bethlehem Christian Academy. This hall will serve not only as a school hall but also as a chapel for George Baptist Church. The multi-purpose conference facility is named in honor of Mr. Rick and his wife, April Moeckel, a generous couple who donated the funds necessary for its construction.
Rick and April Moeckel, along with their four children—Grace, Olivia, Dean, and Luke—felt a profound calling to donate to the community, inspired by God’s commandment to love others as they love themselves. The visibly joyous family expressed their happiness in seeing their project come to fruition after raising an impressive fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00) for the church hall.
“As a family, we raised fifty thousand dollars, which we donated towards the construction of the church hall. We are extremely happy today to see our project come to light,” Mr. Moeckel shared. The Moeckel family’s journey to Zambia was a testament to their belief in involving their children in God’s work. The children’s enthusiasm was evident as they participated in the handover ceremony, embodying the family’s spirit of generosity and faith.
The Moeckels emphasized that their donation was not merely about material contributions but about building a legacy of a strong, united community. They hope that George Baptist Church will one day extend its support to other communities, fostering a cycle of giving and spiritual growth.
“We are thrilled to see our donation being used for such a meaningful cause. Material things do not matter as much as the impact we can make on people’s lives,” the Moeckels said. “Our future plans are to help build a com*munity that will come together and extend its help to another community.”
Ulubuto Baptist Mission and the Moeckel family have shown that faith, generosity, and community spirit can create lasting change. As they continue their mission of spreading Christ’s message and building strong communities, their story serves as an inspiration to us all.
